Founder and lead instructor of The Wilkinson Academy (1989), perhaps the nation’s most successful life skills and athletic development program. The Academy program grew into and now has been succeeded by the Wilkinson Sports and Life Performance Academy program in 2011, reflecting the enhanced depth of the performance and leadership-based emphasis of the program. Pete has over 45 years of coaching, player development and program development experience and is a member of the American Baseball Coaches Association, a national organization dedicated to the development of collegiate baseball. Pete Wilkinson was one of the pioneers of the instruction business. As a former player for Hall of Fame Coach Rod Dedeaux of USC, he studied the game at the highest level. Upon retirement, Wilkinson went on to create one of the most respected baseball academies in the world. His Academy has never been about volume, but more about working with players who have made a commitment to learn how to increase their baseball skill. Baseball Outside the Box: Pete Caliendo - Pete Wilkinson joins the show!!
Conor McCarthy: Conor was a member of the three time Northeast Conference baseball champion Bryant University Bulldogs program from 2011-2014. In High School, he played for former MLB players Mike LaValliere, Don Robinson and Scott Sauerbeck at St. Stephens Episcopal School in Florida and was named a second team all-state player his senior year. Conor previously worked for the National Pitching Association under the direct tutelage of legendary pitching coach and Sports Performance Specialist Tom House. He recently served as a pitching coach for a travel baseball team managed by former MLB manager Bobby Valentine. Conor is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association, Certified Sports Nutritionist from the International Society of Sports Nutrition, Level 2 certified in the Functional Movement Screen by Functional Movement Systems, and a Level 2 Certified Speed Specialist.
